TYPE OF MATERIAL
1403 LV-Resin by WEBAC Corp. is a low viscosity two component hydrophobic
resin based on a MDI (methylene-diphenyl-isocyanate) polyurethane. The
product is 100% solvent free and 100% solids. The gel-time of the product
can be adjusted by adding a certain percentage of 1400 Catalyst.
This high grade and constant volume polyurethane resin is an universal
injection resin designed for application in wet and dry cracks. Unlike
water activated materials WEBAC Corp. 1403 LV-Resin does not need any
external moisture for the reaction. 1403 LV-Resin has an ultra low viscosity
of 70 cps resulting in excellent penetration into finest hairline cracks.
Another advantage of this very flexible material is the adhesive strength
to concrete which is typically higher than the tensile strength of the
product when injected into the structure. The combination of great adhesion
and flexibility of the material minimizes risk of developing new cracks
in the concrete. The cured resin is inert to wet and dry cycles, it does
not shrink or swell.
1403 LV-Resin may slightly foam in contact with water in a pressure free
environment. Under pressure injection foaming is suppressed and 1403 LV-Resin
cures to a dense and flexible sealant. The product is non-corrosive towards
steel and is safe for use in combination with foils and joint strips.
To achieve most satisfying and permanent results in certain applications,
a commbination of 1403 LV-Resin with other systems of the WEBAC Corp.
product line may be advised. The product works very well as a finishing
product for areas previously injected with expanding foam, where minor
leaks or dampness may persist. Ask your WEBAC Corp. technician for details.
PROCESSING
1403 LV-Resin supplied in separate containers with equal amounts of A
and B component. The mixing ratio by volume is 1:1 (A:B). The material
can be applied with suitable two-component or single component injection
equipment. Use of single component equipment makes it neccessary to keep
batches small enough to ensure complete dispersion of material during
the 'workable' pot life in order to avoid reaction in the pump and hoses.
WEBAC Corp. assumes no responsibility for equipment failures due to reacted
product.
Plan ahead: Single component equipment users: Observe
temperature and humidity of the environment, since both determine the
pot-life of the premixed batch. Do not mix more material than the amount
that will be pumped within reasonable time. Rule: High temperatures and
high humidity SHORTEN your gel time.
Caution: It is essential for all equipment to be dry. Avoid any moisture
contact with the mixture to prevent premature reaction of the product.
If reaction of the batch occurs while pumping, immediately shut down the
machine and flush with a cleaner to avoid built up and clogging of the
equipment.
1400 Catalyst optional: By adding 1400 Catalyst product
gel time can be adjusted down from approximately 2 hours to approximately
20 minutes. Up to 5% of catalyst may be added by volume to achieve the
shortest gel time. Add catalyst the the clear component A prior to mixing.
Example of catalyst usage:
2 gal mixture (7.6 liters)
1% = approx. 2.5 FL OZ. or .07 liters
5% = approx. 12 FL OZ. or .35 liters.
MAINTENANCE OF EQUIPMENT
Remove all excess product and any smears. Tools and mixing equipment must
be cleaned immediately after use. R70 Pump Flush is good to your equipment
and should always be used. For best results please follow our recommendations.
First Step is conditional - Omit if in conflict with regulations on the
jobsite or the equipment you use: Flush first with a very small amount
of solvent (not supplied by WEBAC Corp.) to cut remaining material. Caution:
Xylol, Toluol, Acetone, M.E.K. are hazardous, combustible, aggressive
towards the environment, equipment, seals and hoses. Immediately follow
second step.
Second Step: Flush with WEBAC Corp. R70 Pump Flush circulate cleaner through
pump and hoses for several minutes at higher flow rates. R70 Pump Flush
is a solvent free, non-flammable cleaner, lubricator and pump and hose
conditioner. The product ships without any hazard label.
PRECAUTION
Protect your health! While working with WEBAC materials, safety goggles,
gloves and safety clothing must be worn at all times. While injecting,
a full face shield is strongly recommended. Spills and blow-outs do happen!
Protect yourself and others on the jobsite. Consider property in proximity
of the application area to prevent loss or damage. Protect your jobsite
from unauthorized persons. Store all materials and equipment safely and
out of reach of children!
Observe container labels, MSDS, and instructions in the WEBAC Product
Catalog before using the product and equipment. In case one of the components
comes in contact with the skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water. Provide
adequate ventilation in volume and pattern in working area. Further protection:
emergency showers and eyewash stations.
